Tecnalia strengthens its hydrogen laboratory with the incorporation of H2TESTLAB.
Tecnalia has announced the incorporation of H2TESTLAB into its hydrogen laboratory at its facilities in Donostia-San Sebastián. This is a unique infrastructure for testing materials and components for the production, distribution and use of renewable hydrogen. The equipment includes:
- An AEM electrolyser test bench, to assess advanced solutions for the production of renewable hydrogen.
- An electrolysis membrane test bench, focused on performance analysis and material degradation.
- An embrittlement and material compatibility test bench, key to assessing the safety, reliability and durability of components exposed to hydrogen.
- A hydrogen sensor test bench, to validate critical detection and monitoring technologies.
- General laboratory infrastructure, integrating control electronics, safety and ventilation systems specific to hydrogen facilities.
With a focus on the development and scaling-up of next-generation electrolysers, the compatibility and durability of materials, storage, safety and industrial uses of hydrogen, the inclusion of H2TESTLAB further consolidates the existing testing, validation and technology demonstration capabilities available in the laboratories of Tecnalia.
