Nordex Electrolyzers celebrates 8 October, World Hydrogen Day.

Nordex Electrolyzers and the Spanish Hydrogen Association (AEH2) have highlighted the need to strengthen technological and industrial sovereignty in the field of renewable hydrogen, emphasising the importance of developing in-house capabilities in key technologies such as the manufacture of electrolysers. To mark the annual World Hydrogen Day, chosen to be celebrated on 8 October because of the atomic weight of hydrogen (1.008), both organisations stressed the importance of developing a national value chain capable of reducing dependence on imported technology and leveraging the economic opportunities associated with the roll-out of renewable hydrogen. They also pointed out that Spain boasts renewable resources, industrial capabilities and projects under development that enable it to aspire to a prominent position in the European hydrogen market. In this respect, the two organisations also highlighted the need to maintain support for innovation, industrialisation and the scaling up of locally developed technologies to strengthen the sector's competitiveness and consolidate the country's role in the future hydrogen economy.
