The new generation of Irizar i6S Efficient H2 FCEV hydrogen coaches, operating in real-world conditions and with passengers on board.
The second generation of Irizar's hydrogen-powered vehicle, the i6S Efficient H2 FCEV, has been operating since last June under real-world driving conditions on various routes covered by the Madrid Regional Transport Consortium. The vehicle, which has a seating capacity of 69 passengers and can accommodate up to 18 standing passengers, has been tested on both demanding inter-city and long-distance routes, proving itself to be a sustainable, efficient and reliable option for all types of applications. The coach is equipped with a 190 kW Bosch hydrogen fuel cell and features an electric propulsion system designed for medium- and long-distance operations, enabling refuelling times of around 10-15 minutes and a range of over 1,000 km. Furthermore, the vehicle delivers performance and commercial capabilities equivalent to those of conventional diesel vehicles. Irizar has announced that the vehicle will enter production in the first half of 2027.
