Lumiker, a company specialising in customised optics and electronics solutions, joins the Basque Hydrogen Corridor (BH2C).

Lumiker, a company specialising in customised optics and electronics solutions, has joined the Basque Hydrogen Corridor (BH2C) as a participant in the OPTHYCS project: Demonstration of H2 monitoring and leak detection systems.

The project consists of a demonstration in a real use case of hydrogen monitoring and leak detection systems in existing and future underground and overhead transport gas pipelines, compressor stations and hydrogen refuelling stations with renewable H2 dispensers. The project is based on innovative fibre optic technologies designed to improve the safety and environmental impact of renewable hydrogen transport, including tests with pure hydrogen and different mixtures with methane (3-30%).

OPTHYCS is a project approved under the H2020 - Hydrogen Europe call. The project is led by ENAGAS, with the participation of Lumiker, GRTGaz, Febus, Tecnalia, GERG and FHa.

Within the BH2C, the OPTYCHS project is included in Vertical 2: T&D and Storage.
