Técnicas Reunidas and BBVA team up to promote industrial decarbonisation.
Técnicas Reunidas and BBVA have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote the development of initiatives and projects related to the energy transition and decarbonisation of the economy. The agreement establishes a framework for collaboration between the two organisations to strengthen the business of track, the new business unit of Técnicas Reunidas specialising in decarbonisation and energy transition services and projects.
The service portfolio of track includes everything from the technological definition of projects that optimise its clients' investments, to the management of carbon emissions from hard-to-abate industries and the co-development of projects, where it is currently involved in significant opportunities in Spain and the United States related to the production of green and blue ammonia. Overall, Técnicas Reunidas has already provided services involving almost two million engineering hours for low-carbon technologies such as hydrogen and its derivatives, biofuels and synthetic fuels, and carbon capture.
Under this agreement, BBVA and Técnicas Reunidas will be able to collaborate in reviewing the business plans of track and identifying specific growth opportunities. The agreement will also include seeking financing and solutions for decarbonisation projects, financial structuring and advice in the field of sustainability in which track is involved.
