Tamoin to construct the calibration bench for hydrogen flowmeters, as part of the HYLOOP+ project promoted by Enagás.
Tamoin has been awarded the contract for the HYLOOP+ project of Enagás in Zaragoza, a strategic initiative set to mark a milestone in Europe by building a pioneering facility for the calibration of hydrogen flowmeters. Tamoin began its participation in the project in March 2025, with an estimated duration of one year. The scope of the contract includes procurement engineering, equipment supply, construction work and commissioning of the facility.
The Hyloop+ initiative, rooted in the deployment of renewable hydrogen, has been conceived as a research project that includes, in addition to a platform for testing equipment, the construction of a calibration bench for hydrogen flowmeters capable of operating with mixtures of hydrogen and natural gas in any proportion.
The aim is, on the one hand, to gain a deeper insight into the use of hydrogen in gas installations and, on the other, to provide a calibration service for hydrogen flowmeters. This will be achieved by setting up a benchmark system, to be included in the agreement through which the Spanish Metrology Centre recognises the Zaragoza Metrology and Innovation Centre as a collaborating laboratory, enabling it to participate in the network of international intercomparisons of measuring equipment.
With this award, Tamoin consolidates its position as a leading company in the development of advanced technological solutions for the energy transition and decarbonisation in the industrial sector.
