The H2med consortium, in which Enagás is a partner, announces the start of the detailed engineering phase (FEED) of the BarMar subsea pipeline project.

H2med, the consortium behind the European Union’s first major green hydrogen corridor, has announced the start of its detailed engineering phase, Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED), following the successful completion of the basic engineering studies (pre-FEED). Completion of the BarMar pre-FEED phase has confirmed the technical viability of the project and enabled the foundations to be laid for the design of the hydrogen pipeline and the associated compression station, which is planned to be built on the site of the Enagás Regasification Plant in Barcelona. During this initial phase, a preliminary route for the pipeline corridor was defined, drawing on the initial findings of the environmental impact assessment, which is still ongoing. The start of the FEED phase marks a critical transition from conceptual design to the project's final technical architecture. This new phase will draw on the findings of the environmental and technical studies conducted, as well as the feedback received during the public consultation processes in Spain and France, which concluded this July. All of this will provide the partners and investors with the technical basis required to make the final investment decision (FID) for BarMar.
