Scale Green Energy, a subsidiary of Enagás, to deploy six hydrogen refuelling stations in Spain.
Enagás subsidiary Scale Green Energy is to receive more than 8 million euros to roll out a network of renewable hydrogen refuelling stations in Spain. With this agreement, the European Commission has given the green light to awarding 100% of the funds requested by Scale Green Energy for the ECOhynet project for the construction of six renewable hydrogen refuelling stations, each with a capacity of 1,000 kg per day. The facilities will form part of the Atlantic and Mediterranean corridors of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T).
With a total investment of over 26.7 million euros, this network of refuelling stations will supply hydrogen produced from renewable sources, at a pressure of 350 and 700 bar, for both light and heavy-duty vehicles.
The grant has been awarded following the signing of the Grant Agreement for funding from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) for alternative fuel infrastructure (AFIF), awarded by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA). This funding for Scale Green Energy is in addition to the 75.8 million euros granted to Enagás by CINEA on 30 January, which will be used to co-finance 50% of the studies for the Projects of Common Interest (PCI) for the first axes of the Spanish Hydrogen Backbone Network and the H2Med corridor.
