Petronor hosts a visit from a German delegation of specialists in the field of industrial decarbonisation.
As part of the CDI Delegation Tour 2025, a German delegation of specialists in the field of industrial decarbonisation has visited the Petronor facilities in Muskiz. The delegation, made up of 30 representatives from industrial companies, universities, technology centres and public bodies, had the opportunity to learn about Petronor's strategic initiatives. The visit, organised by Petronor, not only served to strengthen ties between the Basque Country and Germany in the areas of industrial policy, technological innovation and climate action, but also consolidated the region's position as an international hub for industrial decarbonisation.
During the visit, the German delegation were provided with an overview of some of Petronor's innovative renewable hydrogen projects: the 2.5 MW electrolyser, operational since 2023; the 10 MW electrolyser, to be installed in the Port of Bilbao to supply the decarbonisation hub in the port; and the 100 MW electrolyser, planned for Petronor's facilities. Particular emphasis was placed on the decarbonisation hub, which will be capable of transforming CO2 emissions into useful materials for construction.
On another note, Petronor held its annual event at the Euskalduna Conference Centre on 11 November. Topics on the agenda included decarbonisation and new energy types, while also highlighting new strategic opportunities such as the decarbonisation hub and the 100 MW electrolyser. These projects reflect Petronor's ongoing commitment to technological development.
