Launch of the Hazitek H2SKID project to develop a 1.25 MW experimental portable electrolyser to supply industrial end users.

A consortium of 11 Basque companies, led by Sarralle, is set to start work on the design of key components for an experimental, compact and modular (‘Plug & Play’) platform in two containerised modules: one focused on hydrogen production by electrolysis and the other on hydrogen compression and storage. The main objective of H2SKID is to research new technologies for the production of green hydrogen using an experimental 1.25 MW AEM/PEM portable electrolyser for supply to industrial end users. The project will validate the use of green hydrogen as a sustainable energy vector for decarbonising industry in a controlled environment in the area of the ladle preheating burners and/or tunnel kiln at ARCELORMITTAL Sestao. The consortium, coordinated by Sarralle, also includes ABC Compresores, Arcelor Mittal Sestao, Matz-Erreka, Flubetech Coatings, Mugape, Sener, Team Group, Torraval Cooling, Tubos Reunidos Group and Zigor Corporación, with the support of ABC Compresores Technology Centre, Zigor and Tecnalia as members of the Basque Science, Technology and Innovation Network.
