The Enagás Hydrogen Technology Observatory organises a workshop on hydrogen pipelines, with the participation of Tecnalia and Nortegas.
The Hydrogen Technology Observatory has organised a technical workshop entitled ‘Ensuring the integrity of hydrogen pipelines’, on the integrity and safety of pipelines for transporting hydrogen, both in new infrastructure and in adapted gas pipelines. The session, promoted by Enagás in collaboration with Nortegas, Rosen, Snam and Tecnalia, addressed technical advances in the repurposing of gas pipelines for hydrogen transport, as well as the latest solutions for advanced pipeline inspection.
During the event, a round table was organised featuring several professionals from the sector, including Nicolás Larrosa, from Tecnalia, who also shared experiences and lessons learned from important European projects in this field.
In addition, Izaskun Gorostiaga, from Nortegas, presented the H2BIDEA project, which aims to develop technological solutions to roll out new 100% hydrogen distribution networks to drive green hydrogen valleys and industrial decarbonisation. The consortium, led by Nortegas, is made up of ABC Compressors, Orkli, Tubos Reunidos, Calcinor and Fidegas. Tecnalia, ABC Tech and Ikerlan also took part as members of the Basque Science, Technology and Innovation Network.
