Calvera Hydrogen develops a Hydrogen Refuelling Test Unit to validate the safe and correct functioning of hydrogen refuelling stations.

Calvera Hydrogen has unveiled the Aletheia project for the validation of hydrogen refuelling stations with industrial grade accuracy. The Hydrogen Refuelling Test Unit, recently successfully verified, will be available as a service for Calvera Hydrogen customers.

The Aletheia project (from the ancient Greek term for truth) has emerged in response to the need to understand the in-depth operation of hydrogen refuelling stations with precision, flexibility and total safety. The testing device developed in this project provides key information for compliance with ISO 19880-1 standards, ensuring the safety and performance of each refuelling station.

The Calvera Hydrogen Refuelling Test Unit has a storage capacity of 5.4 kg of hydrogen at 700 bar, divided into three independent cylinders. It offers continuous pressure and temperature monitoring to analyse fill curves and simulate signals for excess pressure, overheating or loss of communication. It also has a calibrated flow meter to check the flow of hydrogen dispensed, a moisture analyser to ensure its purity and allows for the reuse or controlled venting of hydrogen, ensuring total process safety with leak sensors, alarms and forced ventilation.
