The BH2C and the BASQUENERGY Cluster bring together international manufacturers of electrolysis technologies at the 3rd edition of the Technical Conference on Electrolysers.

The 3rd Technical Conference on Electrolysers, organised by the Basque Hydrogen Corridor (BH2C) and the BASQUENERGY Cluster, took place on 5 June at the Energy Intelligence Centre (EIC), bringing together leading manufacturers, industrial companies and other stakeholders from the hydrogen ecosystem to analyse developments in electrolisis technologies and to discuss some of the main challenges facing the sector. The session featured five international manufacturers.

Javier Fernandez, CTO of Nordex Electrolysers, opened the conference with a presentation of the company's NX2500 pressurised alkaline electrolyser, highlighting its efficiency, operational flexibility and ability to integrate with variable renewable energy generation. Following this, Christian von Olshausen, Founder and CTO of Sunfire, outlined the development of its alkaline and SOEC electrolysis technologies, as well as the company's experience in deploying projects totalling hundreds of MW across Europe.

After the coffee break, Juan Manuel Lopez, Director of Sales and Operations at Power to Hydrogen, discussed the current state of AEM technology development and presented the company's patented hybrid design, aimed at addressing the main mechanisms of membrane degradation and significantly improving system durability.

Similarly, Frank Dahlmanns, Director of Business Development at SolydEra, and Kristian Laursen, Director of Sales and Business Development at Dynelectro, presented their collaboration on SOEC electrolysers, geared towards reducing the cost of renewable hydrogen in hard-to-abate sectors.

The event concluded with a series of B2B meetings between attendees and manufacturers, which provided an opportunity to delve deeper into specific technical aspects and explore potential collaboration opportunities with Basque organisations.
