Tecnalia to have a new building dedicated to sustainable and smart mobility by 2026.

Works on Tecnalia's new building have officially begun in the Eskuzaitzeta industrial estate in Donostia-San Sebastián as part of the MUBIL Smart and Sustainable Mobility Hub, promoted by the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa to establish the region as a European benchmark in its field. The new building will be a key part of this hub, alongside other facilities such as those of Cidetec and Ceit.

The building, which will have a total surface area of 7,000 square metres, will be fully operational by the end of 2026. It will house three laboratories: two H2 Technology Labs, for research into hydrogen propulsion, generation, distribution and storage; and the Urban Mobility Lab, specialising in air mobility. These facilities will enable the design, testing and validation of advanced technological prototypes, ranging from new materials to complex digital systems.

Tecnalia has invested 14 million euros in this project and has received support from the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa. In addition, a team of around 80 professionals will be at the helm of this new space, which will also be a hub for attracting talent in the fields of mobility, energy transition, digitalisation and sustainability.
