Meeting of the BH2C Production Vertical.

The first meeting of the BH2C Production Vertical, led by PETRONOR and ENAGAS, was held on Tuesday, 14 March, at the BEC, and was attended by the main players in the Basque Country involved in producing the first green hydrogen.

The session began with an update on the latest developments in the BH2C and the new definition of verticals by PETRONOR. Currently, the production vertical comprises eleven initiatives, of which three were presented during the meeting.

Petronor detailed the progress being made towards the commissioning of the 2.5MW electrolyser, which will be producing green hydrogen in the coming months.

H2SITE, with state-of-the-art membrane manufacturing facilities and significant commercial leverage, explained the solutions provided by membrane reactors and separators for different use cases.

HYFIVE, as a new member of the BH2C, made a presentation on the business model and progress being made in the BenortH2 initiative, an innovative project for the production of green hydrogen on-site at the Amorebieta Combined Cycle power plant.

The event also included a technology session on the development and scale-up of advanced electrolysers by Tecnalia, in which continuous innovation was highlighted as the key to strengthening the competitiveness of the Basque Country and making it a role model in electrolysis technologies.
