Irizar presents the new generation of the i6S Efficient H2 FCEV coach.

Irizar has unveiled the second generation of its i6S Efficient H2 FCEV hydrogen-powered vehicle, which was Europe's first zero-emission hydrogen coach. This new model features substantial improvements over the previous version, including increased luggage and passenger capacity, greater range and reduced weight. The coach incorporates a hydrogen fuel cell and electric propulsion system designed for medium- and long-distance operations, enabling refuelling times of around 10 minutes and a range of over 1,000 km, whilst maintaining performance and commercial attributes equivalent to those of conventional diesel vehicles. The vehicle has successfully passed type-approval tests and will soon be operating in real-world conditions with Alsa in Madrid during the summer. The launch of this new version took place during the general assembly of SHYNE, the Spanish Hydrogen Network. The first generation of this vehicle, unveiled at Busworld in late 2023, successfully completed a 2,500 km journey between Ormaiztegi and Briançon in the French Alps, setting the milestone of becoming the hydrogen coach to have covered the longest distance to date in Europe.
