Enagás selects the 35 most advanced projects for injecting hydrogen into the natural gas network.
Enagás has completed the first round of capacity allocation for hydrogen injection into the Spanish gas network, a process through which it has allocated 12.64 GWh per day to a total of 35 renewable hydrogen projects. The operation, performed by Enagás in its capacity as Technical System Operator, was conducted in accordance with Circular 2/2025 of the National Commission for Markets and Competition (CNMC) and constitutes one of the first steps towards integrating this renewable gas into the existing infrastructure. The allocated capacity will allow up to 2% by volume of renewable hydrogen to be injected into the current grid. With this allocation, the selected projects now have a regulated framework to proceed with their investments and a maximum period of two years to commission their facilities.
