Enagás launches two Calls for Interest, one for hydrogen and the other for CO2, given the significant progress in the Spanish Hydrogen Backbone Network.
Enagás has announced the launch of two non-binding Calls for Interest, one for hydrogen and the other for the CO2 logistics chain, which are scheduled to begin on 18 May. The aim of these consultations is to gauge and update the interest of the sector’s main players in these two areas: the first is aimed at potential producers, consumers and traders interested in using hydrogen infrastructure, and the second at CO2 emitters and users. Since the first non-binding Call for Interest process launched by Enagás in 2023, the Spanish Hydrogen Backbone Network has made significant progress in its technical development; the basic engineering for most sections of the network has now been completed, and the detailed engineering phase is underway for several of them. This level of progress places the development of the backbone network at a more mature stage, making this an especially appropriate time to launch a new Call for Interest to update market information.
Both Calls for Interest will be available on two specific and independent platforms on the Enagás corporate website. Furthermore, online information sessions will be organised for the sector to explain the steps of the process, how to participate and to answer any queries. Firstly, the information session for the hydrogen call will be held on 18 May at 15:30. Once this has finished, the platform will be activated to provide access to the participation form, which will be available until 18 June. In the case of the CO2 call, the information session will be held on 20 May at 10:30, and the form will be open for completion until 30 June.
