Avia presents at Motortec its hydrogen fuel cell electric truck developed by Ajusa.

At the Motortec trade fair, Avia has unveiled a 12-tonne electric truck equipped with an innovative hydrogen fuel cell developed by Ajusa. This prototype vehicle is intended for food logistics distribution and represents a major step forward in the promotion of clean technologies for goods transport.

The truck incorporates a power module based on a 20 kW PEM fuel cell, specifically designed as a range extender for electric vehicles. This system includes not only the fuel cell stack but also auxiliary components, cooling systems, a built-in control unit (FCCU) and a custom-developed power converter.

Following an exhaustive laboratory validation phase, the module has been successfully integrated into the vehicle, passing operational tests under real conditions. This milestone demonstrates the viability of the technology as a sustainable solution for heavy-duty urban and interurban transport. The project, funded under the Automotive Technology Plan, also involved the collaboration of the companies Ficosa, CIE Automotive and Bonarea.

In line with the objectives of the BH2C, the project reinforces the commitment of the consortium partners to the decarbonisation of transport and the development of an industrial ecosystem based on green hydrogen. The presentation of the vehicle at Motortec has generated considerable interest among professionals, institutions and the specialised media, consolidating this technological collaboration as a firm step towards cleaner, more efficient and sustainable mobility.
