The Andalusian Hydrogen Cluster visits the Petronor refinery in Muskiz.

Last Wednesday, June 3, a delegation from the Andalusian Hydrogen Cluster visited the Petronor refinery in Muskiz. As part of the visit, they were briefed by Elías Unzueta, CEngO at Petronor, on the decarbonisation strategy of Petronor, including the 10 MW electrolyser project in the Port of Bilbao and the 100 MW project to replace the grey hydrogen used at the refinery.

Later, Jone Irigoyen, a member of the BH2C Technical Office, presented the activities and main projects of the Basque Hydrogen Corridor (BH2C), while Asier Madariaga, Head of Business Development at Alba, spoke about the objectives of the EIC Foundation to advance the roll-out of infrastructure and projects related to renewable fuels in the Basque Country. Also present during the visit were Aitor Arzuaga, CEO of Alba and president of the BH2C, and Manu Nuñez, deputy CEO of Petronor. The visit concluded with a tour of the refinery and the EIC facilities, including the future Abanto hydrogen refueling station, which is scheduled to come into operation later this year.
