Petronor promoting digitalisation and industrial decarbonisation through the Iria Project.

Petronor is participating, together with Repsol and Cellnex, in a project to promote the digitalisation and decarbonisation of an industrial centre through the development of a 5G-powered communications solution that enables new operations and applications to be developed in an industrial environment.

In doing so, Petronor remains at the forefront of R&D and sustainability, with an energy transition model that involves rethinking production processes, new products, alternative businesses, etc. The so-called Iria Project has been funded by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, through the UNICO SECTORIAL 5G 2023 Programme.

The objectives of the project are:

To drive decarbonisation and move towards multi-energy production in the industrial centre.
To progress in digitisation and people safety.
To improve communications capacities, reliability and security.
To promote the development of the green hydrogen production plant.
To bridge the gap in automatic roaming between networks for critical communications.
