Técnicas Reunidas to provide design engineering services for one of the largest green ammonia plants in Norway.

Fortescue, a global green technology, energy and metals company, has selected Técnicas Reunidas to provide FEED ("Front End Engineering Design") services for the Holmaneset project for the development of a green hydrogen and ammonia production plant.

The project, to be constructed on the coast of the Nordgulen fjord in the western part of the country, includes a 300 MW hydrogen production plant, consisting of multiple electrolyser modules, a green ammonia synthesis plant with a nominal capacity of 675 tonnes per day (tpd), and facilities for ammonia storage, water treatment and marine infrastructure, including an import/export port and a subsea gas pipeline.

Técnicas Reunidas will dedicate an estimated 70,000-plus hours of high added value chemical engineering to this FEED. The Spanish company will deliver FEED services together with a binding proposal for the transition to an EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contract for the execution of the project.

This project confirms the intensification of the energy transition and decarbonisation activities that Técnicas Reunidas has undertaken in recent years, a momentum that has been reinforced through TRACK in the last twelve months.
