The first green hydrogen facility of the Basque Country Vocational Training system completes its first year in operation.

February marked the first anniversary of the TELKI Green Hydrogen Lab at the San Jorge Vocational Training School in Santurtzi. The TELKI Green Hydrogen Lab complex is a pioneering infrastructure that brings together the technology and facilities needed to obtain pure hydrogen from water, using the school's PV and wind power equipment as the energy source for this process.

The green hydrogen is produced using a 1 kW electrolyser, powered by a 5 kW peak (kWp) vertical axis wind turbine, a 4.4 kWp dual-axis solar PV tracker and a 15 kWp solar PV canopy with three 22 kW charging points for electric vehicles.

Several improvements have been made to the Green Hydrogen Lab since it was first commissioned, including automating the temperature control of the hydrogen cylinders and improving the design of the urban wind turbine. The facility is currently supplying electricity to the 5G Smart Cabinet telephony station, installed by SACEN Technology Solutions S.L.
