The EKARRIH2 project joins the Basque Hydrogen Corridor (BH2C).

The Basque Hydrogen Corridor (BH2C) continues to grow in terms of members and organisations. At its third General Assembly in Bilbao, the BH2C formally announced the inclusion in its activities of eight new projects at different stages of the value chain. One of the eight projects is EKARRIH2 "Key technologies for liquid hydrogen carriers", a project funded by the Basque Government under the ELKARTEK 2022 programme. The project is focused on the development of advanced liquid hydrogen carriers and hydrogenation and dehydrogenation technologies that enable large quantities of hydrogen to be transported over long distances at a competitive cost and in an environmentally sustainable manner.

The project is coordinated by Tecnalia and involves the participation of six other partners from the Basque Science, Technology and Innovation Network, namely: CIC EnergiGUNE, Cidetec, Petronor Innovación, Tekniker, UPV/EHU and the Energy Cluster.

Within the BH2C, the EKARRIH2 project is included in Vertical 2: T&D and Storage.
