The Basque Government allocates 30 million euros to BH2C projects.

The Basque Government has earmarked 30 million euros, almost a third of the 106 million euros that Petronor has budgeted, to develop a synthetic fuels plant using green hydrogen obtained from a 10 MW electrolyser.

The Basque Government's involvement in the company is divided into 6 million euros for the 10 MW electrolyser, 15.1 million euros for the renewable power generation plant that will feed it, and the rest, 9 million euros, for the distribution network for the synthetic fuel that will be produced from the green hydrogen.

In addition to these funds, the 3 BH2C projects are also looking to be awarded EU funds channelled through the PERTE for Renewable Energies, Renewable Hydrogen and Storage. Although the provisional award made by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge excluded the project, allegations were submitted and a decision is expected in the near future.
